Dubarry's for Christmas?

I have been looking at Dubarry boots with Christmas in mind. Are they too expensive to give as a present, should you sneak a pair into your own bag instead?
Many have tried to emulate the unique qualities of Dubarry of Ireland's top of the range Galway Boot but no one has managed. The Galway stands proudly at the top of Dubarry of Ireland's range and is their world famous signature boot - it is exclusive, individual and beautifully made.
But would you buy them as a present at Christmas?
The Galway Boot is not out of place anywhere - along country paths, around town, in festival mud or on the coast - the Galway simply steps up to the mark as only a real icon can.
The boot is a knee-length boot that is fully waterproof and breathable. It is Gore-Tex ® lined right to the top of the boot and the leathers are treated to repel water. The outside of the boot is made from smooth leathers and crushed leathers that feature Dry Fast, Dry Soft technology.
I wore a the test pair walking a couple of weeks ago and I must say that my feet were unbelievably comfy. Not only that but warm and dry which in Scotland is a must!!!
Your feet will stay warm in Winter and cool in Summer. The boot has a Duo Compound sole directly injected onto the upper, creating one piece with no glueing or stitching, giving a perfect seal to keep water out. The Boot is lightweight and is suitable for all weather conditions - rain, mud and snow. The top of the boot is finished with leather draw strings pulled to the front and finger pull tabs stitched inside to ensure an easier slip onto the foot.
All Dubarry Boots have an unmistakable profile and provide a versatile platform for your own style no matter what you wear with them. Great on their own with jeans, or try them with Alpaca socks or cosy faux fur boot liners. Wear them with your favourite dress - wherever you wear then, they will fit your look as they fit your feet.
So I would say that you couldn't go wrong buying a pair of Dubarry Boots for Christmas as a present, for what you are getting they seem pretty good value to me. I will certainly be popping a pair in my own basket this year.
Let me know what you think...
